Ssamjang pasta

Very basic, pretty tasty.

For the ssamjang, mix the following ingredients together:

  • depending on spice level, 2-4 tbsp doenjang

  • 1 tbsp gochujang

  • quarter to half a finely diced white onion

  • 2 tsp agave

  • 2 tsp sesame oil

  • 2 tsp sesame seeds

  • 1 clove finely minced garlic

  • 1 stalk finely chopped green onion

Mix together and taste it. It should taste good at this point.

For the pasta:

  • Ssamjang. No specific measurement, I just used all the ssamjang I made above

  • 200 ml cream

  • if you want, some fried mock meats

  • 200 grams pasta

  • tbsp butter

To make it, just put the pasta on a boil. In the mean time, fry up some mock meats, if you’re using them, and in a large pan or wok, add the butter. When melted, add the ssamjang. Fry the ssamjang for about 3 to 4 minutes, then add the cream. Slowly simmer, and if needed, add some pasta water to thicken things up a little. When the pasta is close to ready, add the mock meat to the sauce, and then add the pasta. Toss the pasta to coat, serve.

Hello.
As I'm somewhat fed up with the general state of the internet, and due to some nostalgia for how the old web used to be, I've decided to resurrect my essentially unknown website. I hope to use this place to post some things about music, books and maybe coding. Who knows. For now, I'm just happy it exists.
